Weeknotes 2025, week 1

It’s been ages since I tried writing weeknotes. I’ve been writing work-related weeknotes in private for a lot of 2024, but I always get hung up on publishing these on my blog, because I don’t know what to publish and what to keep private, and how to format them, and what to include or leave out...

So I’m just going to have a go, and refine the format later, if needed.

This week I’m still on holidays from work and haven’t done much.

I figured out/remembered how to publish new posts on my blog again and posted an annual review for 2024. Kudos to Josh for encouraging me, because I wanted to rage-quit (both writing the review and dealing with my blog) multiple times, but he’s right that I’m glad I got it done.

While I was there I changed the main font for blog posts to Source Serif Pro instead of SF Mono, and I fixed paging for the blog, which was implemented but not correctly, so had never worked.

It’s been very hot in Melbourne lately. Even when the max temperature isn’t super hot, the summer sun is formidable and makes me feel hot.

We watched Big Fat Quiz of Everything this week which was really good fun.

1Password is pissing me off lately, and it seems to just keep getting worse. I’ve been looking for a replacement (again) but I’m not sure if any of the alternatives are any better. I’ll keep looking for now.
